Colombian Nonlinear Dispersive Equations:
A Collaborative Workshop.
The study of nonlinear dispersive equations has experienced a
remarkable surge in activity in recent times, and Colombia has
been at the forefront of this progressive movement. The
country's research in this field has witnessed
exponential growth, with numerous researchers from various
universities and research centers actively engaged in
groundbreaking work, earning significant recognition on the
global stage.
The primary aim of this workshop is
to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among both
Colombian and international researchers who specialize in this
area. By bringing together seasoned academics and promising
young researchers, including post-graduate students, the event
seeks to fortify and promote the latest advancements in this
captivating field of study. Through this unique platform,
researchers from diverse backgrounds will have the opportunity
to interact, share their findings, and collectively contribute
to the further enrichment of nonlinear dispersive equations
research.
In this spirit of collaboration, the
workshop promises to be an enriching experience for all

Manizales 2022
The
1st Colombian Workshop in Nonlinear Dispersive Equations occurred in Manizales, Colombia, from November 29th to
December 2nd. This event aimed to bring together researchers,
graduate students, and experts in the field of nonlinear
dispersive equations, fostering collaboration and knowledge
exchange.
The workshop featured plenary talks,
contributed sessions, and discussion panels covering topics
such as:
- Well-posedness and qualitative
properties of dispersive PDEs
- Control theory and
stabilization of wave-like equations
- Numerical and
analytical approaches to dispersive models
- Applications
in physics and engineering
The event, which
included national and international speakers, sought to
strengthen the mathematical research community in Colombia and
beyond by promoting the study of nonlinear dispersive
equations and their applications.
